Ji Chen blinked, and subconsciously moved his gaze back to Jiang Baiyun. He handed out a freshly written check: “Take it.”

Jiang Baiyun was confused and didn’t know what it was. However, the man seemed to be determined so she still took the check from him. She next heard the man say: “I will only give you 200,000; you must learn to be self-reliant.”

Ji Chen deeply looked at Jiang Baiyan: “From now on, behave yourself.”

After speaking, the window was raised again. The car started up and drove away, leaving Jiang Baiyun standing on the spot, carrying various groceries and an additional check, with a puzzled look on her face and a head full of question marks.

  …Who is this man!

  —–

When she got home, Jiang Baiyun quickly pulled out the fish from her bag and threw it into the kitchen sink, and then she put away the things she had bought one by one before finally closely looking at the check.

It’s really two hundred thousand! Jiang Baiwan was stunned, but she didn’t have the excitement of getting 8 million before. Instead, she was full of doubts-who the hell was that man? Why did he seem to be so familiar with her? And it’s 200,000 right off the bat?

The content of that old  romance novel basically revolved around the male and female protagonists. The supporting characters are all one-dimensional, so Jiang Baiyun didn’t pay much attention to them. Thinking about it now, she vaguely felt that no one could match the man she met today.

  Who the hell is he?

Unfortunately, until Jiang Baiyun went to bed and closed her eyes, she still couldn’t find any information about the man from her memory.

Half asleep, Jiang Baiyun felt as though someone was whispering in her ear. The man’s voice was deep and magnetic, his lips lightly brushing against Jiang Baiyun’s ears, and her body trembled due to the sensation.

She rolled over impatiently, but felt as if she had fallen into an embrace. The embrace was warm and heated, and the flushed Jiang Baiyun could hardly breathe. She wanted to get away, but she couldn’t move a muscle.

Who are you? Confused, Jiang Baiyun’s heart shouted.

However, until she plunged into darkness again, Jiang Baiyun did not get the answer she wanted.

  ——

When she woke up the next day, Jiang Baiyun, with headful of chicken hair, angrily looked at herself in the mirror. She was so ashamed!

How old are you, how can you still have wet  dreams! And the most important thing was… the man in the dream, she didn’t even get to see his face!

It’s a loss, Jiang Baiyun thought painfully as she brushed her teeth, it was really a loss.

After washing up, Jiang Baiyun was sitting on the sofa in the living room. She leaned on the back of the sofa and looked at the snow-white ceiling. Suddenly having so much leisure time, Jiang Baiyun was a little unsure of what she should be doing.

Speaking of it, what is the life of a rich person like again? Playing golf? Skiing? Buying antiques?

But she only has 8 million, which doesn’t seem to be enough to support these activities…

Jiang Bayun touched her flat belly, sighed, and looked towards the kitchen-forget it, make breakfast first, at least the rich never go hungry.

  ——

Jiang Baiyun had no idea that a pair of uninvited guests were now approaching the door.

Outside the gate of the community, a red convertible car was parked at the door, where a man and a woman were sitting. The woman was looking at the gate of the community with complicated eyes. She tugged at the clothes of the man next to her and asked in a low voice: “She… does she really live here?”

The man’s expression seemed a little impatient, but he was very gentle when facing the woman: “Yes, didn’t the man over there make it clear when we called yesterday?”

These two people are exactly the protagonists of the novel, Chu Yunhan and Shui Lan’er.

At this time, Shui Lan’er looked at the man next to her with a sad face and whispered: “Yunhan, don’t be angry later, okay? Jiang Baiyun is already pitiful enough, we can’t be throwing stones at someone who’s down.”

Shui Lan’er was a woman like a little white flower. TN\ *cough* White lotus *cough\

She was sad and lonely, but her heart was pure and kind. Even in the face of Jiang Baiyun who had been bullying her, Shui Lan’er didn’t hold any grudges at all. After hearing the news about Jiang’s bankruptcy, she specially made a call to Jiang Baiyun’s villa.

As a result, the people living in the villa told her that the previous tenants had moved out?

Shui Lan’er was suddenly worried. When Chu Yunhan came back in the evening, he saw hir girlfriend sitting by the window with her head hanging down, looking so sad. Chu Yunhan instantly felt distressed. After knowing what happened, even if Chu Yunhan didn’t like Jiang Baiyun, he still asked around to find out where she was currently living.

Thinking of this, Chu Yunhan’s eyes became  even gentler as he looked at Shui Lan’er – his Lan’er is so cute and so kind, she never held a grudge against that wretched woman, Jiang Baiyun.

Lan’er, was the purest girl he had ever seen in his life!

Chu Yunhan couldn’t help looking at the gate of the community again-why couldn’t that woman Jiang Baiyun just disappear from their happy world? Had it not been to make Lan’er happy, he wouldn’t have let her off so easily!

T/N : I’ve decided to split the next chapters because this editing/translating thing is really hard T_T Although I had so much fun because I do adore this novel, but having to check and recheck really takes the fun away.. *sigh* I thought it would be purely leisurely.

  1. When it comes to editing, I’ll point out if I see anything you missed, just as I’m sure other readers will do. No need to worry too much about editing – if you miss one or two things, the readers will help you out.

Though that doesn’t mean I’m advocating for no editing at all. I just want to say that you don’t have to worry about posting something less than perfect. You can always reread it later and edit it. It’s not like it’s published in a book, where you can’t modify the words on the paper.

    Thanks for the chapter.

      1. I struggled with perfectionism a lot too. I’m a fanfic reader and would constantly edit my work and feel unhappy about it. After a while, I decided to just post stuff and later edit according to constructive criticism given to me by readers. Also, I frequently read stuff posted months or years ago and find errors I missed. Every time I correct something my inner perfectionist is satisfied, but at the same time I feel unhappy the error was visible for so long without me noticing.

Anyway, long story short, hopefully you’ll feel better knowing that you can always come back to this chapter in a few months with a fresh perspective to re-read it and correct any errors you notice that you missed the first time.

At least you’re not a published author who realizes there’s an error in her book which has already been printed and sent out to bookstores. Since you post online, you can edit your work whenever you want to make it meet your standards.

And hey, if you do make errors, we won’t judge you. Everyone’s human, in the end. 🙂

      2. I meant ‘fanfic writer’ in that first sentence of my response, but I can’t figure out where the edit button is for my response. I don’t think the site allows me to modify my messages.

I guess this goes to show my own perfectionism and habit of noticing errors in my writing just after I post it. Haha.
